I Wish
by Oofki on May.07, 2011, under Poems
I wish I was who I was way back when,
Almost a decade ago,
Strong with courage,
Blind with rage,
Passion overflowing throughout every single vein.

I wrote a song for my mother,
In response to her strength,
And how her courage and values,
Could inspire thousands to break,
Into tears and the seas would part,
True inspiration only comes from the heart.
Truth me told you painted a portrait,
Of my father in the light of sin,
As you told your stories,
You said the unforgiving suns would burn those within,
Without the light in their hearts,
Without the purest of intention,
I believed you until recent,
Until I realized what you are behind the mask.
The monster is not the one without,
The monster is the one with greed,
Gluttony for power,
Ignorant pride - we will meet again,
I will burn for my mistakes,
For my blatant disregard,
But you my fair mother have gone too far.
The only woman I have known,
To take payment from a man,
Without good exchanged in hand,
Is that of a whore,
A trick,
A street walking thief,
I will see you in hell,
Where I will knock on your door,
And breathe flames of hate.
Father to Son

Father to son,
Congratulations I am so proud,
You’ve taken the world like a man,
You gave it everything you can,
You made it from nothing,
Now look where you are,
I’m so proud.
Father to son,
Silence,
You’re a horrible excuse of a man,
Silence,
Year pass - prejudice is passed,
Silence,
Father to son,
The end of the man, the father, the son,
No more.
No one’s listening
by Oofki on Feb.03, 2011, under Poems
What am I doing in this place,
Why was I sent with this mind,
The days are tiring,
I can see clearly in the nights I’m not blind,
Like the others before me,
Everything’s not okay this time.
I am fueled with a hate,
That I have yet to find,
It’s some sort of secret passion,
Lodged forever in the subconscious of my mind,
Without the key the purpose I will never know,
I have even thought I am supposed to stand tall,
And bring justice to this world,
But we all know how that goes.
Failure upon failure,
I know my faults I see the smallest hair of,
The beast that you are scared of,
And the evil that he brings,
I’ve been there too,
I’ve seen when he sings.
But where is my place in all of this,
The past, the present, the futures written,
Changes for the best I feel are,
The only changes that could have been.
We all know we change we grow,
From then to a fragile being,
With no knowledge then overflow,
With wisdom of the world all over,
At this time it goes to waste though,
When you turn your head to look,
The room is empty,
No one was listening.
War
by Oofki on Oct.20, 2010, under Poems
We spend our countless time,
Trying and trying to better our lives,
To build new life,
And make new homes,
Gathering all our courage,
To just let go.
Life is a war,
Our hearts are the thrones,
Our mind the kings,
And our soldiers - everything we have ever known.
Sleepless nights,
With thoughts that go untold,
From the sights we’ve seen,
All the stories we know,
They make up our conflict,
And we all fight to win.
The battles engaged,
And the other’s conquered thrones,
Are irrelevant after we pack our bags,
And head home.
After all the blood,
And grass returns from red to green,
Everyone has returned to their homes,
But the passed - the ones left on the grass,
Their stories won’t live on,
No one cares to retell what they have seen,
They would rather keep what they saw to themselves,
Even if they can’t sleep.
We spend all our lives,
Trying and trying to better our lives,
To build new life,
And make new homes,
Gathering all our courage,
To just let go.
All the fallen - aren’t forgotten,
Just never retold.
