Lost

by Oofki on May.10, 2010, under Poems

Thing’s don’t really feel like they used to,
When I was a kid going out to swing - could set me free,
Now-a-days I have nothing left in me,
Now-a-days I can barely breathe,
My last words on this earth will probably leave me in peace,
That’s the way life goes - total irony.

When I was a kid things were so simple,
Little things could make me laugh,
Smaller make me crack a smile,
All the taller people gave me attention,
Now that’s hardly my intention,
I don’t want this pressure,
I don’t want these racing thoughts,
No need for all this talk.

Take a lesson  from the kid who has lived it all,
My words are not to waste,
Take judgement from your own heart,
Take your morals from where you least thought,
Along the way you will find your true path,
Just some find theirs to be a highway,
Rather then others a dirt path,
At best - some people even have it worse.

I think the problem with my own beliefs,
When I want something to live I set it free,
And when time comes right another sacrifice is made,
Usually blood is spilt on my own hands,
Just be unlike me and wear gloves every time,
Or you’ll end up with scars that are so deep,
Not a single person can help but question.

The story I am trying to tell,
Maybe didn’t come across,
Do what you have to in order to make things pass,
Don’t settle when you know life is full of second chances,
But make no mistake,
You’ll have to let a lot walk by,
And more often then not,
Your heart makes no mistake,
Follow it down it’s own path,
But more often then not,
It’s easier to take a car,
But if you aren’t driving,
You never know - you might end up lost.
